Filming has officially begun on Blue Sparrow Entertainment's debut short film, The Creatives.

Over the next two weeks, The Creatives will be filming on location at the South West Sydney Business Enterprise Centre in Smeaton Grange, New South Wales.

While current COVID-19 restrictions have made it difficult for film production across New South Wales, the team behind The Creatives have ensured that all COVID safety protocols are enacted on set.

Some of the measures that have been put in place for filming include scheduling scenes to limit the number of cast and crew that are on set at any one time, making mask-wearing mandatory for crew members at all times, and for cast members at all times except for when they are actively filming a scene, coating all on-set surfaces with Anti-bacterial, anti-viral surface protection and wiping down all surfaces before and after use.

According to producer, Kate Jirelle, enacting the social distancing protocols on set has been difficult, but worth the effort.

"Running a film set during the time of COVID-19 has posed a lot of logistical challenges for us" she said. "But it has been well worth the effort to be able to create an opportunity for artists to work on their craft during this time".

The final cast for The Creatives has been finalised with the roles of David Turner and Wendy Matheson now filled.

In the role of David Turner, the overconfident intern at Whitman Marketing's biggest client, Phoenix Cologne is Brayden Palmer.

Brayden is an actor and writer based in Sydney. After winning the AAFTA Carmen Duncan Scholarship in 2019, he has worked on a number of upcoming productions including Rain Dance, We Kill Clowns, and Where There's Smoke, There's Fire - a short film which he also wrote, directed and produced.
